The winning students with their poster designs and prizesSafety conscious students promote safer cycling

Four lucky students from Tanbridge House School have won a range of cycle accessories in a competition to promote safer cycling.

Students were asked to design a poster about safe cycling and had the chance to win one of three prizes. First prize went to Nicole Blackwood-Bryce for her impressive poster who won £35 to spend on cycle accessories. Joint second place went to Jasmine Sweeney and Emily Tietz who each won £30 to spend, and third place went to Simon Mole who won £25 to spend on accessories of his choice.

Miss Sweet, who ran the competition and works heavily with travel safety within the school said: “It’s really important that students understand how to stay safe when cycling to and from school. By asking them to design posters, they are able to apply their creativity whilst learning a really valuable lesson. We had some fantastic entries for the competition and are now running it again with Year 7s, so I’m looking forward to seeing what they can come up with! Congratulations to all the winners, they did a great job!
