Campaign work for UNICEF

Alongside their work raising the profile of student’s rights within school, the RRR group have also been actively involved in campaign work in the wider community to help promote children’s rights.

Four students from the RRR group were also selected to attend a Young Campaigners workshop at the UNICEF Headquarters in London. The girls spent the day working with students from other schools across the UK to brainstorm ideas and create the school campaigners resource pack that will be sent out to all schools nation-wide during the summer term.

The group have been campaigning as part of the UNICEF project to end violence against children by delivering assemblies and tutor group presentations as well as getting student signatures on UNICEF’s global petition. They used iPads to collect signatures for the online petition at break times and even managed to catch Mr White and add his name to the list of supporters. The group also wrote letters to their local MP to raise awareness of this issue ahead of the general election in May.
