Tanbridge House School Supporting Worthing Animal Rescue Centre

A group of Year 11 students from Tanbridge House School, had an opportunity to help a Sussex, Animal Rescue Centre, by designing and building animal hutches.

Worthing District Rescue Centre is a community based charity taking in small animals including cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs. The students decided to help the charity by proving them with hutches.  The hutches were delivered on Wednesday 13th February and the students involved in this project visited the Animal Rescue Centre on Friday 15th February. The students were delighted to have the opportunity to see for themselves the hutches in action and also a chance of seeing the project through to the end.

The students as part of their Design & Technology GCSE course needed to find a real client in the community to benefit from their project and the students were pleased to be able to help Worthing District Rescue Centre.

“The students have worked really hard on the design and structure of the hutches and were delighted to be able to assist the Worthing District Rescue Centre.” Neil Garratt (Teacher of Design & Technology, Tanbridge House School)

“The students have met the challenge of this project with gusto and enthusiasm”. Mr Nick Boldison-Smith, Head of Design & Technology, Tanbridge House School.
