Award nominated Author visits Tanbridge
Tanbridge House School recently welcomed students from schools across Horsham to listen to a talk by Linda Newbery, author of “Nevermore”; one of nine titles shortlisted for the West Sussex Children’s Book Award. The focus of the award is the shared enjoyment of some of the best new paperback fiction by pupils in primary and secondary schools working together.
49 students from Tanbridge House School and Arunside, St John’s, Castlewood and Warnham primary schools gathered to listen to Linda speak about “Nevermore” and where the ideas and inspirations for her books come from, as well as having the opportunity to ask her questions.
Groups of students from across schools in West Sussex, including those who met at Tanbridge, will each cast their vote for the award, with the winning book being announced on World Book Day (3rd March 2011).
