Charity Update
28 March 2007
Since September 2006, Tanbridge House School students have given £7500 to Charity!
The Year 7 students got this year's fundraising efforts off to a fantastic start when they raised £390 for Great Ormond Street in September 2006.
Since then students have raised over £1150 for Children in Need and for the tenth year running, supported Jeans 4 Genes Day and raised £1198.
In December students discovered a taste for numbers when the Tanbridge House School number crunchers raised over £780 for the NSPCC. The Year 7 students who are supporting the RSPCA raised £450 through their Christmas Bazaar. Donations at the Christmas Concert together with the sale of Valentine Roses have enabled Tanbridge to raise £550 for the Sussex Snowdrop Trust, a unique charity that provides support for local children with life threatening and terminal illnesses.
From Monday 12 through to Friday 16 March Tanbridge House School was dedicated to raising further funds for Charities. The days of boring breaks were over for one special week; students and staff purchased tickets to attend the Battle of the Bands in head to head battles for the best Tanbridge House School Band. The teacher v student games were enormous fun as were the Bizarre Bazaar breaktimes! Charity week raised £720 for Comic Relief plus £1190 which is being divided equally between this year’s 5 chosen charities, Cancer Research, CHASE, RSPCA, Snowdrop Trust and Springboard.
Students are also delighted to be giving £500 each to Breakthrough Breast Cancer and the Everyman Charity and not to be forgotten £94 was collected on World Aids Day.
“A fantastic show of support” Mr Marshallsay, Assistant Headteacher, (Charity Co-ordinataor) Tanbridge House School.
