Bags show the Community Cares!!
Cancer Research UK and Swan Walk Shopping Centre call for one last push from the people of Horsham
Horsham’s local community have been working hard to clear out their lofts and wardrobes and bag up spare books, clothes, CD’s and other good quality items for Cancer Research UK.
Tanbridge House School has also been backing the campaign and the students have actively been collecting bags of donations. On Wednesday 4th June the students will be loading up their mini-bus to deliver their bags to the Donation Station.
Swan Walk Shopping Centre’s Donation Station will come to a close on Saturday 7th June when Cancer Research UK volunteers will be on hand in the Donation Station gazebo, to count the bags that have been collected.
Gill Buchanan, Centre Manager at Swan Walk Shopping Centre, is delighted with the response so far, “The good thing about this campaign is that people can support Cancer Research UK without actually putting their hands in their pockets. It’s a proactive process for everyone; participators benefit by giving their homes a spring clean and Cancer Research UK gain stock to sell in their shops to fund scientific work in the aim to beat cancer”.
You still have one last chance to get involved and donate bags! To take part, simply pick up a Donation Station bag from the Centre’s collection point outside Whittard and Classic Bags, fill it with good quality items and return the bag to the Donation Station drop-off point by Saturday 7th June.
