First Green Flag for Tanbridge House School
Tanbridge House Schools is delighted to have achieved the prestigious Eco Schools Green Flag status for the first time.
The coveted Green Flag is awarded to schools who exhibit proactive environmental work covering topics such as water, health and wellbeing, waste management, litter, transport, schools grounds, biodiversity and energy.
The work undertaken by students and teachers at Tanbridge House School to integrate sustainable development issues into the curriculum has earned them their first Green Flag.
Shirley Sweet (Art Teacher Tanbridge House School and in charge of the schools Eco-project): “The Green Flag Award is a combination of hard work over several years with a huge number of staff and students involved with the Bronze Award in 2003 and Silver Award in 2005 leading up to this end result which we now need to sustain and build upon. We are especially proud of this award as it puts us amongst the few secondary schools in the country to have achieved this!”
