Tanbridge grandparents treated to a party

Year 7 students at Tanbridge House School invited their grandparents in for a Christmas Tea Party complete with carol singing, musical performances and mince pies.

Approximately 140 grandparents came in for the two hour tea party in the school’s Main Hall and were treated to musical performances by the Junior Choir, Junior Orchestra and solo performances on the violin and clarinet. Grandparents also joined in with some festive carols.

Refreshments including mince pies and fresh cream scones were served by Year 7 students who had brought in over 200 mince pies between them as well as scones with jam and fresh cream.

Lesley Price, Leader of Year 7, said: “The tea party was a huge success and it was really lovely for the students to spend the afternoon with their grandparents at school. Our visitors all seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves and it’s definitely something we’ll consider doing again next year.”

Comments from guests included: “it was so nice for the Grandparents to be invited", "please do it again next year" and “it was nice to come to such a lovely community school”
