On Wednesday 19 July all students and staff at the school were encouraged to ‘be active’ as the whole day was dedicated to participating in team sporting events.
As well as old favourites such as, Hockey and Rounders, students were also given the opportunity to try other sports not normally on the curriculum, such as, Danish Longball, Kwik Cricket and Lacrosse. Students and staff enjoyed the opportunity to leave the classroom for the day and participate in the wide variety of sports on offer. Tutors led their students around a carousel of activities with teams being awarded points for teamwork, attitude and performance in the matches.
PE teacher Craig Fowle, who was the main organiser of the event, said, “Be Active Day is a great opportunity to promote physical exercise and teamwork for all students (and staff!) It’s great to see it all come together and see the whole school taking part”.
