You can find information below about some of our key events which take place throughout the academic year.
There are five year group Information Evenings which take place towards the start of the academic year. These are designed to give parents/carers an idea of what to expect over the coming year.
Presentations from these evenings will be uploaded to the website after the event.
Usually taking place towards the end of September, Open Evening invites you to tour the school, talk to students and staff and discover what Tanbridge House School has to offer. This exciting evening allows you to experience the very best of our school.
Our Open Evenings often feature live music and performances, subject based activities and multiple opportunities to engage with our staff and students. Mr Jules White, Headteacher, will also speak in the Main Hall at regular intervals. Those wishing to attend one of the Headteacher's presentations are advised to collect a seating ticket on arrival at Open Evening.
Please note that parking on site is limited. We advise you to walk or take public transport wherever possible. If you travel by car, please be respectful of members of the local community and park sensibly - do not block driveways, pavements or emergency access for example.
Celebration of Achievement Evening
This evening usually takes place in December for the previous Year 11 and gives these ex-students a chance to look back at their time at school, celebrate their achievements and formally mark the end of their secondary school education.
On arrival there will be light refreshments available for students, their families, staff, Governors and other guests. Students will be able to collect their GCSE examination certificates during this part of the evening.
Following on from the refreshments, families are seated to enjoy a presentation of the students’ time at school, have prizes awarded and acknowledge students’ hard work and commitment in and outside of the curriculum. These awards recognise both academic and community excellence and achievement. Prize winners will be notified separately.
Dress for the evening is smart-casual - no jeans, t-shirts or trainers please.
Letters/invitations are usually sent out to ex-students in October/November.
Parents' Evenings provide an opportunity for you to speak to your child's teachers about their progress and future targets. All Parents' Evenings take place in the Sports Hall.
The Year 8 Options Evening provides the ideal opportunity to talk to members of staff about Key Stage 4 courses and obtain as much information as you need to help your children make important decisions about their options.
This evening features a short presentation by members of the senior team about next year’s options; including broad careers advice. The evening also allows you to meet department staff to talk about what various different subjects can offer.
Department staff are located in specific classrooms around school to talk to parents and students and representatives from Collyer’s are also on site throughout the evening.
Year 8 students receive a copy of the Options Form prior to the Options Evening which shows the confirmed option blocks.
Usually taking place in July, on this day, Tanbridge House School welcomes the new Year 7 students starting here in September.
Parents/Carers: Your Induction Day / Meet the Tutor Evening information packs will be distributed via your child’s primary school in June.
Further information for new starters is available via our Essential Information webpage.
Towards the end of each academic year we hold a Celebration Assembly for each year group. This is a chance for us to celebrate students' achievements and hand out prizes to those who have achieved or improved significantly over the year. Parents of prize winners are invited to attend these events, which typically take place in the afternoon. Unfortunately, due to the size of our year groups, we are unable to invite parents from the entire year group.
