You can find information below about some of our key events which usually take place throughout the academic year.
**Please note that many events are running differently or have been cancelled for the 2020-2021 academic year, due to Covid19**
There are five year group Information Evenings which take place towards the start of the academic year. These are designed to give parents/carers an idea of what to expect over the coming year.
Presentations from these evenings will be uploaded to the website after the event.
Usually taking place towards the end of September, Open Evening invites you to tour the school, talk to students and staff and discover what Tanbridge House School has to offer. This exciting evening allows you to experience the very best of our school.
Our Open Evenings often feature live music and performances, subject based activities and multiple opportunities to engage with our staff and students. Mr Jules White, Headteacher, will also speak in the Main Hall at regular intervals. Those wishing to attend one of the Headteacher's presentations are advised to collect a seating ticket on arrival at Open Evening.
Please note that parking on site is limited. We advise you to walk or take public transport wherever possible. If you travel by car, please be respectful of members of the local community and park sensibly - do not block driveways, pavements or emergency access for example.
Celebration of Achievement Evening
Class of 2020 – Virtual Celebration of Achievement Event
To celebrate the conclusion of your child’s time at Tanbridge House School we would like to invite you to our traditional, but very different Awards Evening which will be available via the school website on Wednesday 16 December from 6pm.
Due to the current situation we are unable to accept families into school for our traditional Celebration of Achievement event. From the website you will be directed to a secure SharePoint area where a series of videos and PowerPoints will be available for you and your child to look at. This will consist of:
- A general introduction to the event
- A look back at your time at THS
- Award winner’s presentation
- Messages from your tutor/the pastoral team
- Sponsorship details
In order to access this SharePoint page, you will need a password that will be sent out the day before.
For those who have been awarded prizes, these will be available to collect along with your child’s GCSE Certificates. Information on how we will be doing this will be announced soon.
We hope you will be able to log in to have a look at the Virtual Event – which will only be available for 48 hours.
Parents' Evenings provide an opportunity for you to speak to your child's teachers about their progress and future targets. All Parents' Evenings take place in the Sports Hall.
The Year 8 Options Evening provides the ideal opportunity to talk to members of staff about Key Stage 4 courses and obtain as much information as you need to help your children make important decisions about their options.
This evening features a short presentation by members of the senior team about next year’s options; including broad careers advice. The evening also allows you to meet department staff to talk about what various different subjects can offer.
Department staff are located in specific classrooms around school to talk to parents and students and representatives from Collyer’s are also on site throughout the evening.
Year 8 students receive a copy of the Options Form prior to the Options Evening which shows the confirmed option blocks.
Usually taking place in July, on this day, Tanbridge House School welcomes the new Year 7 students starting here in September.
Parents/Carers: Your Induction Day / Meet the Tutor Evening information packs will be distributed via your child’s primary school in June.
Further information for new starters is available via our Essential Information webpage.
Towards the end of each academic year we hold a Celebration Assembly for each year group. This is a chance for us to celebrate students' achievements and hand out prizes to those who have achieved or improved significantly over the year. Parents of prize winners are invited to attend these events, which typically take place in the afternoon. Unfortunately, due to the size of our year groups, we are unable to invite parents from the entire year group.
