The intent of our curriculum is to empower students with the skills and knowledge to make sense of the dynamic world around them, and inspire the imagination and desire to want to learn more about the physical, environmental and social interactions of the modern world. As the geographical landscape, both in terms of the natural world and within societies, rapidly changes around us; it is our overarching aim to ensure that pupils are able to gain a broad understanding of the workings of our world, and equip them with lifelong learning skills to understand, evaluate and reach conclusions about geographical themes and processes. 

Equalities and Inclusion 

We encourage students to ‘think like a geographer’, by this we mean that they learn to consider geographical themes that are fundamentally engrained under the umbrella of ‘Diversity’- demographics, migration, celebration of culture and culture clashes, development, empathy, gender equality and inequality, political and personal freedoms.  

The curriculum allows us to give students a truly globalised view of the world that can disrupt attitudes or thinking that do not celebrate and acknowledge the importance of ‘Diversity’ within our society and the wider world
