What's in the Library?

The Library Catalogue

Our Library contains over 12,000 books and resources for students to browse and borrow. 

Our full catalogue is available online at: https://app.readingcloud.net/ . As well as being able to search for particular authors or titles, the catalogue also showcases new arrivals, reviews, latest returns and reading trends.

Students will need their school username and password to access their own unique borrower account. This allows them to view their past and present loans, due dates, create reading lists, write their own reviews and more. 

Books

We have thousands of fiction and non-fiction books in the LRC which students can borrow. Students can take out up to two books at a time.

Magazines/Newspapers

We have a wide range of magazines and newspapers, covering local/national news and a variety of interests. Students can pull up a comfy chair and browse through these as they wish!

Computers and Laptops

As well as computers which are connected to the school network and available for students to use for completing school and homework, we also have a number of laptops which can be loaned out for use in the Library.

Visiting the Library

The Library is open from 8am every weekday, for all students to use. It is also open after school until 4.30pm for any student who would like to use it.

At break times, there is a rota (below) for different year groups on different days to help avoid overcrowding and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to use the space. 

Library Loans

Students can borrow books for three weeks at a time. Current loans and the dates they are due back can be viewed via a student's account through the Library Catalogue.

When books are overdue, reminders will be sent via tutors and parents/carers.
