The ICT curriculum aims to ensure that Tanbridge House School students are:

Students will leave Tanbridge House School digitally prepared for further education, employment and their personal future.

Throughout Key Stage 3, students will be able to:

Effectively design and create a range of digital content for a given audience.
Discuss impacts that technology can have on society, linking to laws and ethical considerations
Demonstrate responsible use of technologies, identify that the internet needs careful protection to ensure individual privacy.
Attempt to program and interpret a solution to solve a given task, showcasing a wide range of the techniques. Programs produced will be annotated and an efficient, working solution.
Evaluate the effectiveness of algorithms and recognise where information can be filtered to help provide solutions

Throughout Key Stage 4, students will be able to:

Develop key skills in digital information technology, such as project planning, designing and creating user interfaces and creating dashboards to present and interpret data
Understand effective ways of working in digital information technology, such as project planning, the iterative design process, cyber security, virtual teams, legal and ethical codes of conduct
Understand the most important processes in digital information technology, including personal management and communication
Have secure IT knowledge that underpins effective use of skills and processes such as how different user interfaces meet user needs, how organisations collect and use data to make decisions, virtual workplaces, cyber security and legal and ethical issues.
