Media
The intent of the curriculum for Media Studies is to allow students to identify how media plays a central role in contemporary society and culture.
We aim to empower our students to understand how the media shapes our perceptions of the world through the representations, viewpoints and messages they offer.
The curriculum aims to highlight the relevance and importance of the media in our lives today, exploring ways to communicate and analysing forms of cultural expression. The economic importance of the media is also unquestionable. A key part of our curriculum is starting to equip students with skills employers are looking for
- Working collaboratively
- Using industry standard software
- Exploring how to meet a brief whilst meeting deadlines.
The media is a global industry, and our curriculum is designed to help the students begin to successfully navigate such a powerful and influence force in their day to day lives.
