20 Year Time Capsule buried to mark STEAM Day

Students at Tanbridge House School have buried a time capsule capturing life at the school in 2024, which will remain buried and unopened for the next 20 years!

On the school’s STEAM Day in March, which had a theme of ‘Time’, Year 9 students all completed an individual time capsule sheet, filling in information about themselves, their likes and dislikes, hopes for the future etc. These were added to the time capsule along with a number of items that represent Tanbridge House School in 2024; a school prospectus, a school newsletter, a letter from the headteacher and more.

Two Year 9 students, Sammy and Issy, attended to help bury the time capsule, along with the school Premises Team, Mrs Ryan (Leader of Year) and Mr Sheridan (Headteacher).

Mr Sheridan, Headteacher, said: “It was an honour to be there to help bury the time capsule today. It’s mind blowing to think about what the world will be like in 2044 but I would hope that our core values of care, kindness and achievement are still at the heart of Tanbridge House School.”
