High Performers graduate with mini ceremony
Year 11 High Performers took part in a mini graduation ceremony this May, to celebrate and recognise their achievements throughout the four year High Performers programme.
The High Performers programme is designed to challenge and nurture those students who excel in a particular subject (Subject High Performers) or across a range of subjects (Global High Performers). The programme focusses on developing skills across three core strands of Academic Excellence, Personal Development and Leadership through a range of trips, assignments and workshops/events.
Following their participation over four years of the programme, and a comprehensive final assignment, students received either a 2:2 (bronze), 2:1 (silver) or 1st (gold) award which reflected their engagement, attendance and achievement throughout the programme.
The entire cohort of HP students usually takes part in an evening graduation ceremony to celebrate their completion of the programme. This wasn't possible this year due to Covid-19 restrictions, so a mini ceremony took place in the morning instead, splitting the students into three groups.
They were presented with a scroll and a badge as part of the mini graduation, following presentations from Mrs Linsell (Global High Performers Coordinator), Mr Tidman (Subject High Perfomers Coordinator), and Mr White (Headteacher).
Mrs Linsell said: "Myself and Mr Tidman are so proud of the students for graduating the programme and for their hard work throughout. It has been a challenging time over the past year or so and we commend those students who continued to engage with the activities and work we provided for High Performers during this time too. I wish them all every success in their next chapter. Well done!"
