March into Reading is back!
We are delighted to announce the return of March into Reading at Tanbridge House School for 2026.
Launched in 2024, March into Reading is our month-long celebration of books and reading. While we always enjoy marking World Book Day, we wanted to create something that would allow us to share our love of reading for an entire month rather than just a single day. March into Reading was born from that idea, and each year it continues to grow.
This year we are aiming higher than ever before with our 1 Million Page Challenge. Following the success of previous page challenges, we are now challenging our whole school community to read a collective total of one million pages again across the month of March. Students and staff are encouraged to read as much as possible and log their pages here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/T77YKL9. Every page counts, whether it’s fiction, non-fiction, poetry, graphic novels or a favourite book revisited.
We are also proud to launch the Horsham Reading Challenge this year; inviting schools across the Horsham community to join us in reading as much as they can too and celebrating reading. By working together, we hope to inspire even more young people to develop a lifelong love of books.
World Book Day remains a key highlight of the month. This year will once again include our popular Staff-jective Dress Up Day, the return of our Tanbridge Traitors, a fantastic LRC Book Swap, World Book Day tokens and free books, alongside plenty of dedicated reading time.
Throughout March, all Key Stage 3 homework will be reading focused, giving students regular opportunities to build reading into their weekly routine.
There will also be a wide range of competitions, challenges, workshops and activities running across the month, including TV and film screenings linked to literature, author talks and more. There is something for everyone to get involved in - see the poster below for details.
March into Reading is about more than just counting pages. It is about building a strong reading culture across our school, encouraging curiosity, creativity and confidence, and sharing the enjoyment that books can bring.
We look forward to another fantastic month of reading in 2026 and to seeing how many pages we can turn together.
