Readathon Returns for 2026

Our annual Readathon returns this month, running for all KS3 students from Friday 23 to Friday 30 January.

Students will be encouraged to read as much as they can throughout the week, ideally collecting sponsorship for every book, page, or minute/hour they read! Any money raised will once again go to Read for Good, an incredible charity which provides books and storytellers to all major UK children’s hospitals and funds projects that encourage children to read for pleasure.

During the Readathon, KS3 students will have dedicated time for reading during their English lessons. Books, Ebooks, comics, magazines, and audiobooks will all contribute towards students’ total reading (either at home or in school), with students making use of our new Sora eLibrary to access a huge range of these for free.

After the Readathon, THS will receive book vouchers worth 20% of the sponsorship total to spend at Scholastic Book Clubs. Good luck to everyone taking part — we look forward to another successful Readathon!
