Scholars and Equalities Council visit the Houses of Parliament

THS History Scholars and members of our Equality Council visited the Houses of Parliament in November to explore the history of politics in England and find out more about democracy and how our government works.

Miss Simmons, History Teacher and co-ordinator of the Equality Council, accompanied the group on the trip. She said: “Students behaved amazingly and got positive feedback from the guide who said they asked great questions. They even got to sit in the public gallery and see a debate with the deputy Prime Minister.”

Following this, students had the chance to plan their own political campaigns inspired by the Suffragettes, using a variety of tactics that they had learnt about. They then received badges for their hard work, before returning back to Horsham. Well done on a fantastic trip!
