Soldiers lead Army Programme

Year 9 and 10 students have been taking part in our Army Engagement Programme this half term; a hands-on, interactive programme led by active soldiers.

The five week course supports personal development and resilience and allows students to build skills such as planning, teamwork and problem-solving. It also gives insight into life in the army and other uniformed protective services.

Each two hour session is delivered and facilitated by active soldiers from a variety of backgrounds and experiences; providing positive examples of role models for all participants.

Mr Rhodie, Inclusion - Bridge Manager, said: “Our students have thoroughly enjoyed the programme so far and have gained a great deal from taking part. The sessions help to build confidence and show students how they can work positively together to achieve their goals. It also gives a fantastic opportunity for young people to find out more about potential career paths that they have shown an interest in.”
