Sports Highlights - Autumn Term 2

Once again, THS students have been showcasing their talent, dedication, and team spirit across a wide range of sports. From athletics tracks to cricket pitches, our students have represented the school with pride and delivered outstanding performances.

Here are some of the standout moments from this term:

Basketball

• Well done to our Year boys who drew with Bohunt and beat Forest in the District Competition in December, meaning we should be through to the next round.

• The Under 15 Girls took on Downlands, and gave a great team performance despite not managing to secure the win this time

Football

• The U12 Girls had wins against Bohunt and The Weald this half term, and showed some real potential for upcoming fixtures in the new year.

• The U14 Girls put in some great performances during the half term, including a fantastic match against Forest where the team created lots of chances going forward but it just wasn’t our day in front of goal! Excellent performance from all.

• The Under 16 Girls came third in their 6-a-side Area Tournament in November, and also secured their place in the next round of the County Cup following a win against Durrington.

• The Year 7 Boys made it through to round two of the County Cup, after a 1-0 win against Imberhorne - well done boys! They also made it to the Semi Final of the District Cup but sadly lost on penalties.

• The Year 8 Boys are through to the Semi Final of the Mid Sussex Cup, after a win against St Paul’s in November.

• The Year 11 Boys progressed into the next round of the District Cup following their victory against Forest in November.

Handball

• There have been a few fixtures across the various year groups for girls and boys Particular highlights include performances from the Year 11 Boys, who won their games in the Sussex/Hampshire Handball Tournament, beating Forest and Bohunt.

Rugby

• Our Year 11 Boys had a fantastic win against Oathall in the last week of term, after a brilliant team performance

Table Tennis

• Some incredible results in Table Tennis as both the Boys and Girls Teams won the West Sussex Table Tennis Championships in December. Well done!
