Sports Highlights - Summer Term 1

It has been a busy and productive half term for sport - take a look at some of the highlights below:

• Congratulations to our Year 9 girls and Year 10 boys who both smashed their finals this half term! The Year 9 girls won the Sussex Cup whilst the Year 10 boys claimed victory in the Sussex Shield, making THS champions for two years running

• Well done also to the Year 9 boys who played in their Sussex Cup final and narrowly missed out on the win, despite playing brilliantly throughout.

• The U15 girls Cricket team took part in the first round of the Chance to Shine event at Steyning Cricket Club, placing 5th out of 12 teams. Well done!

• Year 7 girls came 3rd out of 9 teams in the county in the Indoor Athletics Sussex Schools Games finals at The Triangle. The Year 7 girls represented the Central Sussex partnership that includes Millais, Forest, Bohunt, the Weald and Midhurst, having won the qualifying competition. This is an outstanding achievement and they should be very proud.

• Year 9 PE Scholars took part in some alternative sports this half term, including spike ball and tchoukball. They had a great time picking up some new skills and trying out something new.

• KS4 students also took part in the Mixed Athletics trials at K2, with brilliant efforts from all involved and some outstanding results (below). Well done to all that competed - behaviour and effort was a credit to THS!
