Summer Reading Challenge Launched
The LRC has launched a brand new Reading Challenge for the Summer term, which challenges students to read four new books before the end of July.
The challenge, which launched on Monday 26 April, invites students to choose one book from each of the categories listed below. Students have to read and log the book on their Reading Challenge sheet and, once complete, hand this in to Mrs Dock in the LRC for their chance to win a prize.
Mrs Dock, Student Engagement and Development Coordinator (and LRC Manager), said: "We're thrilled to announce the Summer Reading Challenge. It's so important to develop that love of reading and inspire students to read for fun. We're encouraging all students to get involved and push themselves. Even those who are 'non-readers' can challenge themselves to read one or two books for the challenge. As long as they push themselves, that's great!"
The categories are:
- A book that has been adapted into a film
- A book based on real people or events
- A book with a three word title
- A book whose author comes from a culture other than your own
Full details can be found on our LRC Competitions and Challenges webpage. Good luck and happy reading!
