THS Celebrates Day of Persons with Disabilities
On 18 December 2019 Tanbridge House School spent the day raising awareness for the UN Day of Persons with Disabilities.
During break times students were encouraged to participate in a variety of activities which included Seated Archery, Seated Volleyball and Sign Language classes, led by student Matt Pilgrim.
The day was co-ordinated by Miss Simmons and Mr Tidman. We spoke to Miss Simmons and she said: “The day of persons with disabilities is to celebrate the achievements of people with disabilities and to celebrate them as well.”
We visited the sign language lessons and Matt showed us the basics and then gave us a demonstration of him saying ‘Welcome to our Day of Persons with Disabilities’ very confidently. It is fair to say that everyone was impressed.
Overall, the day has been a great success and all those who participated thoroughly enjoyed it.
