THS are Equality Champions...once again!

Tanbridge House School is awarded EqualiTeach’s Gold Equalities Award for the second time.

On the 16th October 2024, Tanbridge House School received EqualiTeach’s Gold Equalities Award for the second time. This outstanding achievement reflects the school’s commitment to excellence in equality and diversity, further reinforcing its role as a beacon for others in these areas.

The school has been one of many across the country to sign up to EqualiTeach’s Equalities Award (www.equalitiesaward.co.uk), where schools complete a comprehensive audit to showcase how they have embedded equality, diversity and inclusion throughout all aspects of school life.

The good practice they showcased includes effectively embedding inclusion throughout the school environment, including in its values and pastoral work with pupils; working in partnership with the school community; and applying evidence-based approaches to ensure all pupils feel supported to thrive personally and academically while identifying any gaps in attainment and reducing them accordingly.

Rosa Arias-Yague, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor at EqualiTeach, stated, “I am thrilled to present Tanbridge House School with the prestigious Gold Equalities Award for the second time. The dedication and effort the school has shown to achieve this recognition are commendable. It’s evident that a commitment to equality is deeply embedded in the school’s culture and Tanbridge is keen to review processes and improve their inclusion work. Congratulations to all those who contributed to this achievement!”

Mark Sheridan, Headteacher, said: “Maintaining our Gold Equalities Award is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our entire school community to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where every student can thrive. We are incredibly proud of this achievement and grateful to everyone who has played a part in embedding equality and diversity into the heart of Tanbridge House School.

This recognition motivates us to continue leading the way in ensuring every student feels valued, respected, and empowered to be the best that they can be.”
