Science
We believe that the teaching of Science in school is fundamentally the teaching of skills that are integral to every aspect of a student’s education and life. Our ambition is that it ignites their curiosity and nurtures the confidence and independence needed for their life-long journey, via future learning or employment. The aim is to show students how Science impacts them as an individual, as a community and its overall influence globally.
Teaching students to think, learn, solve problems and make informed choices are all skills required for everyone to interact with the modern information driven world. These skills are integrated into our curriculum, throughout all years, and manifest themselves through the teaching of scientific knowledge and understanding of key Biology, Chemistry and Physics concepts.
Science is not just about knowledge though. We strongly believe in adopting a practical approach to Science, promoting and developing many transferable skills that that lend themselves to careers later in life – these include: working scientifically, solving problems, investigating unknowns, identifying risks and critically analysing data.
