Strike Information - July 2023
Letter from Mr Sheridan: NEU Industrial Action – Wednesday 5 July and Friday 7 July 2023
I am writing to confirm that, as no resolution has been found between the government and the NEU, further strike action will take place on Wednesday 5 July and Friday 7 July 2023.
In order for you to make the necessary arrangements, the school will be putting the following plans in place based on staffing and the ability of the school to ensure safety on site:
Year Group | Wednesday 5 July | Friday 7 July |
7 | In school | Live lessons at home |
8 | Live lessons at home | In school |
9 | Live lessons at home | Live lessons at home |
10 | Key Assessments/Study Leave | Online work available including wellbeing activities |
School will be open as normal to all students on Monday 3 July, Tuesday 4 July and Thursday 6 July.
A separate email will be sent to the parents/carers of students who are deemed most vulnerable to attend on the days where the school is closed to their year groups.
Year 10 students will receive a separate communication detailing changes to their Key Assessment timetable.
Live lessons: a link to the lessons will be sent to students’ school email before the strike days and will follow their normal school timetable. Students who do not receive a link for a timetabled period should complete online work for that subject accessed via SharePoint or the Homework Planner.
Should you have any queries, please contact your Leader of Year in the first instance. Your continued support is valued and appreciated.
In the event of the strikes being called off, we will of course, pass this information on to you and this will result in school being open to all students as normal.
Yours sincerely
Mark Sheridan
