What is the Tanbridge Teacher Training Hub?
Tanbridge House was the greatest school for me to train in.
It was an incredibly supportive and exciting environment and I was employed four months later!
Vicky Charman, Teacher
Welcome to the Tanbridge Teacher Training Hub, part of the Inspiring Future Teachers programme.
The hub was developed through a partnership with highly regarded primary and secondary schools in Sussex and Surrey. Within these schools we have a vast range of experience in leading initial teacher training and in delivering a quality curriculum alongside practical experience in school placements enabling trainees to become confident, established teachers in their own right.
We are passionate about the rewards and benefits and job satisfaction to be gained from joining this profession. Training and recruiting teachers through our programme allows our partnership of schools to "grow their own" and aims to offer successful candidates a long-term career pathway that goes well beyond Initial Teacher Training
How does it work?
If you are considering a career in teaching and are passionate about the skills you have to bring to the profession, we would welcome you to apply to train with us to gain QTS and the option of a PGCE. If successful you will then be placed in one of our partner schools for your school placement where you will spend most of your time. One day a week would be spent at Tanbridge House School with all our other trainees in the area, following a carefully planned curriculum to support your training and prepare you for life as a teacher.
Our vision is simple; to create lasting change through quality teacher training and development, in partnership, together.
Teaching and learning is at the core of everything we do, with a culture of support and a drive for excellence.
Mark Sheridan, Headteacher
Many of our successful trainees go on to gain employment with their host school or another in the partnership following their training year, (subject to the school's recruitment and selection processes.) This creates a great transition for trainees to move forward in familiar surroundings to the next stage of their career as an ECT.
We are happy to guide you through the application process, offer you school experience taster days at a convenient location to yourself and provide support with any finance queries you may have- There are bursaries in many subject areas offering financial support for your training year.

Having led teacher training at Tanbridge for a number of years now, I am really excited to have the opportunity to lead a partnership with many other successful schools in our area joining together to recruit and train those wishing to teach at all different stages of life, be it straight from university, after a career break or those looking for a change of career path. Working with young people is always exciting, never dull and a job like no other. Come and join us!
