One of the key projects that our Student Voice group have been working on is to once again update the school charter. This document, which outlines key rights, is underpinned by the fundamental articles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The charter has been re-written by students this year after consultation across the school. This ensures that all stakeholders had the opportunity to exercise their right to an opinion (Article 12 of the CRC) and felt they had been given the chance to contribute to this vital document.
The updated charter was re-launched in the summer term, in preparation for our UNICEF week (18 - 22 June). The Charter is now displayed in every classroom as a reminder of Tanbridge’s Rights Respecting ethos. The current charter can be viewed below.
