Meet the Governors


Mrs Judith Harding – Chair of Governors

Judith is an IT Programme Director for BT, lives in West Sussex and has two children and a dog. She was raised and educated predominately in West Sussex and, after taking a degree in Music at Hull University and attaining a diploma from Trinity College, London, discovered she had a flair for computing and embarked on a career in technology, firstly working in the Financial Services sector and latterly working in Telecommunications. She has extensive experience in technology development and leading the delivery of complex change programmes into large organisations and is currently CIO Programme Director responsible for BT Mobile and Service Excellence. She actively supports & promotes the BT Women’s network and is a STEM ambassador working in a number of local schools. During her career she furthered her education attaining a Masters in Business Administration via the Open University.

Judith is an experienced Governor, is a Trustee at Southwater Junior Academy and also a non-Exec Director at Canterbury Christchurch University, Kent.

Outside of work she is a cellist performing a number of concerts each year with the Sussex Symphony Orchestra and has a passion for travel and reading.  


Clare Schofield - Vice-Chair of Governors

Clare lives in Horsham and has two adult children one of whom attended THS. Clare is a pharmacist and freelancer providing advice to pharmaceutical companies in the area of ethical promotion of medicines (i.e. writing a lot of procedures and training!).

Clare is an experienced governor and has completed the National College of School Leadership training for chairs.

In her spare time, Clare enjoys walking her dog and meeting people while doing it, travelling, singing and taking part in local amateur panto, specialising in fairy and witch parts (typecasting?).


Felicity Groves – Chair of Wellbeing Committee

Felicity Groves has been a Parent Governor since 2014. She grew up in Horsham but moved away aged 18 years until 5 years ago when she returned with her daughter who attends the school – to resettle and make to town my home again.Felicity is a Social Worker working for local authority Children’s Services. She originally trained in Social Work at Sussex University nearly 20 years ago and developed specialisms in in Child Protection, Therapeutic Practice, Early Years and Adoption. Her professional experience makes her ideal to lead the wellbeing committee which looks at all aspects of safeguarding and the welfare of all those within the school.When not working - you will find her walking my Husky dog, going to a gym class or out with friends.     


Dr. Morgan Chambers – Chair of Teaching & Learning  Committee

Morgan is a personal tutor, and teaches at UCL, School of Management.  She retains her executive coaching and consulting company, The Business of Leadership, which she started in 2008. Morgan lives in West Sussex, is married and has three children. Originally from New Zealand, Morgan completed a Masters degree in Organisational and Industrial Psychology at Canterbury University.

Her first position after University was as Industrial Relations Advisor for NZ’s only oil refining company at the time of its major expansion. Subsequently, she gained extensive executive experience in Human Resources & Organisation Development in a range of industries and territories, including New Zealand, Canada, and Europe.  Recently, between 2010 - 2014, she returned to full time academia to pursue her PhD in Corporate Strategy and Organisational Behaviour from Cranfield University, UK.

Outside of work Morgan is an avid sailor and skier and has a general passion for things outdoors.  She plays the piano as often as she can and travels widely.


Ronalda (Ronny) Harrison - SEND Link Governor

I have been a governor at Tanbridge House School since 2003.

I moved to Horsham in 1983 with my Husband, our daughter has been bought up here and attended Tanbridge between 2002 - 2007.

I worked in Horsham for a National Financial Institution, taking early retirement after 30 years in 2009. Since 2010 I have been working part-time again in Horsham for a National retailer.

My main interest outside of work is musical theatre, attending shows on a regular basis with my daughter and mother.


Lesley Humphreys – Co-opted Governor

Lesley is an Associate Consultant at Graycell Consulting Ltd and lives in Horsham.  She was educated primarily in West Sussex and, after taking a degree in Business Studies (majoring in marketing) at the University of Westminster, she moved on to pursue a career in marketing, PR/communications and fundraising.

She has experience in both the private and not-for-profit sectors, having worked in the City, global publishing, for a ‘Top 50’ UK legal (and financial services) firm and three independent schools (as well as many more as part of her consultancy work). During her career she gained Chartered status from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and has sat on the boards of the two leading professional associations representing fundraising, alumni relations, marketing and communications in the education sector (schools and universities) in UK/Europe.

She is a mentor/coach, as well as a community and intergenerational mediator. Lesley has a passion for international travel, fitness, reading and yoga.


John Oakey – Co-opted Governor

John is a retired Process   Engineer who previously worked for BOC and Linde Gas. He lives in South West Surrey. His degree is in Chemical Engineering from Exeter University. His working life was spent in the Industrial Gases Industry, where he was employed in a largely Technical Role and has a number of Patents in his name.  He spent the first 20 years of his working life Designing and operating various Industrial gases Facilities. In the later part of his career the focus shifted to supporting the various Technical centres around the world through on line support and provide teaching assistance at sites within Europe, Africa and Asia.

John volunteers at Petworth for the National Trust, focusing on Tour guiding and development. His interests are music in all forms, history and sport.


Celia Hurren - Co-opted Governor

Celia is a qualified accountant having trained with a large accountancy firm (where she had some experience of the education sector) prior to working in industry.  This includes managing costs against budgets.She was previously a Governor at St Mary’s Primary School.  She is also the Treasurer for St Mary’s Home School Association (PTA) and a member of the Friends of Tanbridge House School.In her leisure time she enjoys walking her dog, swimming and spending time outdoors with her children.


Russell Dodd – Co-opted Governor

Russell is a recently appointed Governor at Tanbridge House School.   He has 4 boys, all Tanbridge pupils past and present (2 still at the school).  He is passionate about the progress he has seen the school make over the last few years, and the role that he as a Governor can play in maintaining this success.   He is an experienced Governor, serving for 4 years, mainly as Vice Chairman, at Greenway Academy whilst also Chairing their Resources committee.  Russell owns a media and events business based in West Sussex, which means that he has relevant  experience of resources and finance.  He is also interested in joining the Teaching and Learning committee and learning more about SEND provision at the school.


Anne Ryan – Staff Governor

For the past five years Anne has been one of the staff representatives on the board of governors.  She joined the MFL department of THS in 2012 having spent several years teaching in both the primary and secondary sectors.  Prior to becoming a teacher she spent some years working for blue chip companies as a bilingual secretary/marketing assistant.  Since joining THS she has progressed to become leader of year, a role which she thoroughly enjoys.

Being a governor and part of the teaching staff provides a 360° view on all aspects of life at THS which is both beneficial to her working life and personally fulfilling.

Anne is married with 3 children therefore her personal life is pretty busy. She enjoys travelling to new destinations and catching up on TV dramas!


Danni Tresadern - Clerk to Governors

Danni grew up in Horsham and has spent the majority of her adult life in the town.

She is a former student of Tanbridge House School, attending between 1996 to 2001.

Danni joined as Clerk of Governors in 2017 having had experience as a Governor for the Primary School that she attended.

Danni’s background is in Human Resources having worked for various companies and sectors over her working career. Danni is trained in British Sign Language, Interior Design and Counselling.In Danni’s spare time she has her own mental health blog, contributes as a blogger for the Huffington Post UK, and has a passion for Interior Design having featured in household name style magazines.

Danni is married and a mum to one daughter.
